My friends! Here's another reminder that I'll be the opening Keynote at PAP (Patient Assistance & Access Programs 2024) on Tuesday, March 19th, at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.
IMHO, "Patient Access" means "knowing things exist that you'd likely never know about," so whatever crapness you're dealing with is a little less horrible and more tenable.
For example, the worst thing I kept hearing while at Stupid Cancer was, "Where were you when I needed you!" How do we eliminate that sentence from ever happening? Don't forget that search engines are also an SDOH.
Healthcare is a retail store no one ever wants to shop in. You have no idea what's on the shelves, let alone on what aisle PLUS, someone else buys it for you, and you rarely know the price. How do you know what's best for you if everyone else controls the narrative? How can anyone "just be their own advocate" if they are amidst a zephyr wrapped in a fire tornado deep fried in a tsunami covered in Nickelodeon slime?
What are the latest and greatest ways to solve this? I was diagnosed when analog phones, Discmans, Prodicy, and Tamagotchis reigned supreme. There were no support groups in the Yellow Pages. (Look it up, kids. Life was weird back then)
Today, there's too much. How are we supposed to sift through the madness? Well, I have faith in progress, and while my inner cynic controls my inner and outer monologue, I know the speakers and sessions at this event will tackle them head-on. *Apply directly to the forehead.
So, let me know if you'll be there b/c I'd love to sync up. And if you've been on the fence or unaware of the conference, I encourage you to join me and some of my epic colleagues.
